MANUAL TRAINING SCHOOL CHEESE MADE AT TURUA ' THEATRE ACCOMMODATION (From the Hauraki Plains Gazette of February 19, 1923.) At last night’s meeting of the Paeroa Chamber of Commerce, a resolution was passed requesting the Minister of Education to carry out the wishes of the parents of this district, and establish a manual training school at the earliest opportunity. Returns from the Hauraki Plains Co-operative Dairy Go’s, factory at Turua, show that during the month of January 956 crates of cheese of an average grade of 90.5, 338- boxes of butter of an average grade of 91.5 and 69 boxes of whey butter were shipped. At last night’s meeting of the Paeroa Chamber of Commerce, Mr E. W. Porritt referred to the necessity . for having proper theatre accommodation 'in Paeroa. ’ At present all the decent companies were leaving Paeroa out. He suggested that this question might be considered at a later meeting. The president said there was no doubt that a theatre would be a big attraction. Mr Leach said it would be a good proposition for the borough council if it had faith in the town. “But,” he said, “we lack the courage.”
