“THOSE HOARDERS”
INCIDENT IN HAWKE’S BAY EXCUSE BY WOMAN SHOPPER Truth is stranger than fiction. A Central Hawke’s Bay retailer relates that a woman, who, to judge from the plentitude of parcels in her basket, was bent on obtaining the maximum she had to spend, came into the shop and asked if she could obtain that rarity of rarities, a writing pad. On being told she might have one, she replied: “Can you let me have three or four before the hoarders get their hands on them!”
