OHINEMURI A. & P. SOCIETY CATALOGUE REVISED DISPUTE WITH WAIHI COUNCIL (From the Ohinemuri Gazette of October 23, 1902.) We understand that the Rev. Mr John McArthur, lately of Canada, supplies the Presbyterian pulpit at Paeroa and Karangahake on November 16, succeeding the Rev. Mr Jas. Fussell whose engagement expires on November 13. A very successful meeting of the Ohinemuri A. and H. Society was held on Saturday night.- The catalogue has been revised and • several alterations were made in view of the forthcoming show. The prizes in some cases have been increased and the classification of the horse section in particular, has been very much improved. The committee will meet on November 15 to finally pass the schedule.
The Commissioners apppointed to inquire into matters in dis-—-pute between the Ohinemuri County Council and the Waihi -■Borough Council, sat on 'Friday - evening, when the solicitors engaged by the parties submitted the terms to which they had agreed and the Commissioners -will recommend that these terms—--be enforced. .The Borough is to—--pay to the County towards the—--County overdraft the sum of—--£1497 13s Id, together with the——interest on that amount from— October 1 to March I—about1 —about £250. The Borough is to maintain the road from the Waihi company’s bridge at Waikino to the Borough boundary, and from the Borough boundary to the County boundary on the Tauranga side — the County to contribute onethird of the cost of the same up to £1250 per annum. The County is to maintain the road from the Junction and Puke wharves to Waikino—the Borough to pay two-thirds of the cost up to a sum of £5250 per annum.
