EASY AND RELIABLE

WATERPROOFING A SHEET VERY SUITABLE FOR A CAMP An easy, cheap and reliable method of making a waterproof sheet suitable for camping is as follows:— Take 1 oz. common soap and dissolve in half a cup of mineral turpentine (not vegetable, as this will not prevent moisture being absorbed). Stir into this mixture about a pin of ordinary house paint. This must be very thoroughly mixed or the finished sheet will be liable to crack when folded. Wash and hem calico or other ttoofk material, paint dressing on, rub well in and dry in shade or under verandah. Lasts for years.
