REV. FUSSELL LEAVING WAIKATO COMPANY’S WORK BEING DONE AT TURUA ■(From the Ohinemuri Gazette of October 19, 1902.) We learn that the Rev. James Fussell, who has been in charge of the local Presbyterian Church since April last, has resigned his position and ■ is leaving at the end of November. **■ * * Mr Edwin Edwards notifies that he will be a candidate for a seat on the County Council as a representative of the Paeroa Riding. Mr Edwards has had nine years’ experience of County Council business, having been both chairman and clerk of the body. * * * * The Waikato No. 3 Company will try conclusions with. the Ohinemuri No. 1 Company B team on Monday next. It is intended to make this an annual affair. The Ohinemuri Company have visited the Waikato three times and have always received the best of treatment while there and in return the Ohinemuri Company to “do one better” for the visitors. It is now proposed to make the match a triangular one and to include the A and B teams of the Ohinemuri Company and the Waikato team. * On the Turua estate a good deal of work is being done in the way of draining and fencing. A considerable area is being ploughed and sown in oats to , feed the horses working on the estate. There is a large increase in the number of cows being milked this season and a much larger output of butter is expected.
