BRITISH COASTAL MERCHANT BOAT DEFEATS GERMAN BOMBER: The little coastal ship St. Euan was spotted and attacked by a German bomber. The skipper, Captain C. H. Roberts, saw the aircraft approach, circle the ship at 1000 feet, then dive to attack with guns blazing. He held his fire until the bomber was almost on top of the ship, then blazed away with his twin Lewis guns. The German aircraft burst into flames and crashed into the sea. The little ship escaped undamaged. (By an official artist).
