PIONEER PASSES

MRS EMILY WHITMORE FORMER PAEROA RESIDENT The death has occurred in Hamilton of Mrs Emily Whitmore, aged 83 years, wife of the late Mr .Cornelius Ensor Whitmore. Born at Coventry, England, Mrs Whitmore came to NewZealand as a child of six. On arrival she lived in Auckland, where she married Mr Whitmore. They lived in Thames and (Paeroa and: were residents of Turua for many years. Mrs Whitmore was an active member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Hamilton, until her death. Of seven children, five survive Mrs Whitmore. They are Messrs Arnold Whitmore, Paeroa, Fred Whitmore, Auckland, and Phil Whitmore, Papatoetoe, and Mesdames R. L. ? Dean, Wanganui, and E. E. Gil Im an, of Hamilton. Two sons, Privates F. and J. Whitmore, were killed on the Somme during the last war. There are 13 grandchildren, one of whom is serving with the Royal Air Force.
