SOWING BY THE MOQN BEST DATES THIS SEASON FERTILE SIGN OF THE ZODIAC “For several years I have experimented with the sowing of seeds, with results proving beyond question that the best and earliest crops are obtained from seeds sown during the first and second quarters of the moon and while she is in a fertile sign ofthe zodiac,” writes Mr H. E. Lawrence of Stratford in a letter to the Dominion.
“For instance, peas sown last season after full moon and within a week of some sown at the proper time, gave a relatively poor crop, and six weeks later than the others. “As we are being urged to grow vegetables I hope you will grant space for favourable times for this season. As germination is the important point, it is advisable to sow on the earliest day. For this reason potatoes may give good results from other dates, as they have already germinated before planting. “The -best dates are August 18 to 21, September 14 to 17, also 22 and 23, -October 11 to 14 and 20, 21, November 10, 11, 16, 17, 20, 21, December 9 to 14 and 18, 19. “ If it is desired to test the theory a few seeds could be sown at the following (worst) dates, and results noted: August 28, 29, Setember 2,3, 7,8, 29, 30, October 4,5, 6, November 1,2,- 28, 29, December 25, 27.
