KITCHEN EVENING
ENJOYABLE TURUA FUNCTION MISS LORNA LOADER HONOURED A very enjoyable kitchen evening was tendered to Miss L. Loader, at Turua, on Monday night. There was a large crowd present and Lorna was the recipient of many useful gifts. Her intended husband, iSecond-Lieut. R. Hewson, was able to be present, having had week-end leave.
Mr A. H. Sutton made an efficient M.'C. and conveyed to the young couple all the best wishes of the many friends present. He asked. Miss loader to accept the present, etc. Mr R. 'Hewson suitably replied and while a delicious supper was served th<J ’presents were opened. Among the gifts there was a lovely reading lamp from the basketball girls of Ngatea. Dancing was enjoyed until a late hour.
Music was supplied by Mrs Ted Clark and Mr A. Whitehead with extras by Miss Thrupp and Miss Mar-
ceau. A Monte Carlo was won by Mr and Mrs J. Miller.
