REMOVING SAUCEPAN DENTS
Aluminium saucepans cannot give as good service when they are dented. Take the dents out of them. Here’s how. Take an ordinary chair castor, fix it on to a handle, and “wheel” over the dent with a firm pressure. That will put an end to the dent and make cleaning the pan easier and more thorough. A dented aluminium pan is usually a dirty pan.
Glue a small cork to the inside of the machine-drawer and slip the thimble over it when not in use. There will then' be no hunting for it amongst other articles. * * * * The most accurate of all ways of evenly dividing a pound of butter is ■by cutting it diagonally. If you require a ribbon to be soft, rub the iron over it only once. When you want a stiff ribbon, iron it several times. When hot coffee is in great demand for suppers, etc., much time is saved by making a supply in a thick, concentrated form. In a well-corked bottle this will keep a full week, hot milk or water being added when required.
