NO AUTHORITY YET

INCREASED STREET LIGHTING SHROUDS MUST BE KEPT ON “No authority whatever has yet been given for any increase in street lighting, and the lights must remain shrouded, until this is given,” declared the Thamies Valley Lighting Controller, Mr N. G. McLeod, at a meeting of E.P.S. Controllers, Deputy Controllers and secretaries in Te Aroha on Monday night. The question .was raised by several officers who stated that they had heard of two towns, one > of them on the coast, which had removed some of the shrouds, from their street lights. It did not appear to be definitely known whether this was so or not, but <<f it. was, those towns had broken the regulations.
