SUCCESS WITH WHEAT

GROWN IN THE TARANAKI

63 BUSHELS TO THE ACRE

That Taranaki can successfully grow and harvest wheat has been proved by Messrs L. H. and K. A. Andrews, Okato, who for many years have been growing it on upwards of 100 acres between Okato and Oanui. This year they threshed 27 stacks, averaging 63 bushels to the acre. This was the third successive crop of wheat on land that was formerly waste, full of stumps and covered with gorse and blackberry.
