HIGHER PAY
PLEA FOR THE POLICE FORCE (FAITHFUL SERVICE GIVEN Mr A. S. Sutherland, M.P. - for Hauraki, made a plea fox- higher pay for men in the Police (Force when the annual report of the 'Police 'Department was .being discussed in the House of Representatives last week.
Mr Sutherland said that the work of the police was difficult and they had, in his opinion, a just cause for claiming a higher remuneration for their services. They were one section of the community that often did not get recognition for their faithful service.
