CAR HITS POLE

ACCIDENT NEAR KOMATA MERCURY BAY RESIDENT SWERVED TO DODGE A CAR While proceeding along the ThamesPaeroa Main Highway in his car on Monday to his home at Mercury Bay Mr Reginald George Hall, retired, met with an accident near Komata when near the gateway leading into Mr W. White’s property. Mr Hall swerved to avoid a car driven by Mr G. Meldrum which turned into the gateway. The swerve carried Mr Hall’s car across the road where it hit a telephone post, resulting in considerable damage to the car.

Mrs Hall who was the only passenger in the car was thrown heavily against the windscreen and suffered abrasions. Mr Hall was not hurt.
