Orphans’ Orchestra
The Paeroa Orphans’ Club, although it has been ‘ dormant for two seasons still lives on in its orchestra. Last Saturday evening this fine, band of musicians provided entertainment at the Returned Services’ Association re-union of a standard equal to that of the time when its appearances were at regular intervals.
Front-Page News A Morrinsville, soldier, Corporal A. E. Yardley, formerly a member of the staff of the Hauraki Pla'ins Gazette, gets front pags news in, this week’s- Auckland Weekly News to the extent of being on the cover. The 1942 re-union of the Paeroa and Hauraki Plains R.S.A. was different from those of recent years. As those who went to Great War I. enter the clubroom for each annual reunion their minds slip back to the days' of nearly a quarter of a century ago but their heads record the passing of the years. This year there were scattered among those who demonstrate that the good men come out on top, were many with heads of thick dark hair. They were the veterans of Great War 11. and those who are serving at home.
