NGATEA WEDDING

LAURENCE—'CHRISTIANSEN BRIDE IN VIEUX ROSE FROCK The Methodist Church, Ngatea, was the scene of a quiet wedding on Saturday morning when Miss Tui Christiansen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Christiansen, of Ngatea, was married to Mr Clive Laurence, son of Mrs M. Laurence of Tatuanui and formerly for several years, of Ngatea.

Rev. Mitchell of Morrinsville was the- officiating minister and Mr E. Cocks (Ngatea), presided at the organ.

The bride who was escorted by her father, wore a charming vieux rose model frock with navy accessories and carried a lovely Victorian posy of mauve, rose'and autumn-tinted flowers.

The matron of honour, Mrs Carmon t, was wearing a navy tailored suit with navy felt hat, and her posy was of mauve chrysanthemums and fern.

Stoker Bill Christiansen, R.N.Z.N., carried: out the duties of best man.

A reception was afterwards held at Hotel Ngatea, where the tables had been attractively decorated with white iceland poppies and gold relief.

Mrs Christiansen received her’ guests wearing a frock of navy angora and a cyclamen model hat, Her shoulder spray was of shaded delphiniums. Assisting her, was Mrs Laurence who wore a black ensemble with furs, a black hat and shoulder spray of orchids.

The bride’s grandmother, Mrs Mackay, was also present, wearing an airforce blue costume with navy accessories.

Mr and Mrs Clive Laurence will make theii* home at Tatuanui.
