FINANCES IMPROVE

HAURAKI UNITED DRAINAGE DRAINS IN GOOD CONDITION That the financial position of the Hauraki United Drainage Board had improved considerably since last year was disclosed to Thursday’s meeting of the board. The clerk, Mr J. E. Green, reported that each of the various areas was in credit as follows, the figures in parenthesis being those at the same date last year:— Northern Area: £lB7 3 7 (£155 11 0) Central North Area £358 4 4 (£9l 13 1) Central South Area £lO2 4 11 (£ll3 15 7) Southern Area £492 19 3 (£224 13 2) Members agreed that the drains were in as good, or even better condition than they had been in previous years and the gradual improvement in the finances of the board was very encouraging.
