MR P. E. BRENAN CHAIRMAN
ANNUAL MEETING HELD MR DANBY DEPUTY-CHAIRMAN At the annual meeting of the Thames Hospital !Bord on Tuesday, Mr P. E. Brenan was, in his absence due to illness, re-elected chairman for the ensuing two years.
When the secretary, Mr A. L. Neighbour, called for nominations for the position of chairman, Mr W. Danby moved that Mr P. E. Brenan be re-elected chairman. Mr Brenan, said Mr Canby, had many many years of successful business and local body association behind him which he made available to the board. In addition his courtesy to board members resulted in the harmonious work of the board. -
Mr W. C. Kennedy seconded the nomination stating that Mr Brenan had conducted the affairs of the board as though they were his. own business. Mr Brenan was very methodical and took a great interest in the efficient management of the Thames Hospital Board. Mr S. H. IBrown spoke in support of the nomination, saying that if it was only a matter of presiding at board meetings he would consider the position should go round but he did not consider that any other member could handle the affairs of the board as expertly as Mr Brenan did. Mr C. W. Parfitt moved that Mi’ W. Danby be re-elected deputy-chair-man. Seconded by Mr W. C. Kennedy. The chairman’s honorarium was fixed at the same figure as last year, namely £lOO.
