LIBERTY LOAN BONDS

PROGRAMME HELD IN PAEROA £3O WORTH 'SOLD ON FRIDAY To stimulate interest in the Liberty Loan in Paeroa, Columbus Radios, by means of a loud speaker system staged, a programme on Friday. During the afternoon items were given as follows:—Mrs R. Cleary, piano solo; Mrs Cleary and Miss R. Smith, piano duet; Miss Smith, piano solo; while a number of children also gave items. In the evening a further programme was given while some £3O worth of bonds in the Liberty Loan was sold among the crowd listening-in. The evening programme consisted of songs entitled, “It’s A Lovely Day To-morrow,” “To A Miniature,” “Ah! Sweet Mystery of Life,” and “Smilin’ Thru,” by Miss McClinchy; songs- entitled “Trees,” and “Lights of Home,” by Lilian Walls, a duet entitled “Woodpeckers’ Song,” by Cecilia Nichols and Velma Mathies on, a song “To The Spring,” by Miss R. 'Smith and a piano duet by Miss Smith and Mrs.- R. Cleary.
