Hilarious Red Skelton spreads mirth wholesale in “Whistling In The Dark,” comical adaptation of the Broadway stage hit which will show at the Regent Theatre on Saturday and Monday with Skelton playing his 1 first starring role as a radio “crime creator” forced by criminals to invent a practical “perfect murder” for them. His antics and adventures in escaping "with two girl friends maintain a continuous gale of laughter.

Thg comedian has for a sweetheart pretty Ann Rutherford, while Virginia Grey plays her love rival. The girls stage a battle over Red that is one of the top spots in the general hilarity.

Conrad Veidt, mystery man of “A Woman’s Face,” plays the sinister culturist leader who stirs up all the comical comm'otion. '“Rags,” Bagland, comedy hit of Broadway’s “Panama Hattie,” .adds to the hilarity. S. Sylvan Simon directed, with principals including Henry P’Neill, Eve Arden, Paul Stanton and others. Effective camera work by Sidney Wagner and an interesting musical score by Bronislaw Kaper enhance the roaring comedy. TO-NIGHT ONLY “Man From Music Mountain” and “Murder Over New York” will show to-night only at the Regent Theatre. “HUDSON’S BAY” ROMANCE, ACTION, DRAMA Pierre Radisson, the fabulous man who saved a new world for the ruler who had ordered him hanged, is brought to life on the , screen brilliantly by Paul Muni in the 20th. Cen-tury-Fox production “Hudson’s Bay,” which will show at the Regent Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday. Depicting th'e • turbulent drama in the founding of an expansive colonial and commercial Empire, the dramatic and moving film stars Mimi as a reckless adventurer —a role unlike any he’s ever had.

. When Lord Grewe, played, by John Sutton,' is exiled to Canada for his drunken pranks, he falls in with Muni and a fellow fur trapper, played by huge Laird Cregar. Driven by a dream so big few men of his time could grasp it, Muni takes the two men with him into the-frozen north where the foundation is laid for a great trading company. Indian warfare, the drama of men battling the elements, all are depictedin scenes full of compelling realism. In the end final victory is won when Radison saves half a continent for the ruler .who had ordered hinr hanged.

Running through the story is a tender romance between Sutton, the exile who makes good in Canada, and lovely Gene Tierney. Others seen in the featured cast include Virginia Field, Vincent Price and Nigel Bruce.
