TOO MANY SMALL DRAINS
POLICY IN FUTITRE YEARS
“ I’m of the opinion that the board is cleaning too many small drains,” stated Mr R. Green at the monthly meeting of the Hauraki United Drainage Board. He quoted cases where settlers were drained all round their boundaries and still had. other small drains on theii* property which the board cleaned.
It was suggested that next season area members could 'deal with this problem in their own areas. Mr McMillan quoted a case in his area where he proposed to block a drain. He had already secured the consent of the settler, Mr P. R. Henry to block the drain at the road. He
