WEATHER FOR MARCH LITTLE RAIN THIS YEAR FIGURES RECORDED IN PAEROA With a total rainfall of only 1.18 inches in Paeroa for March compared with 8.11 inches for the same period last year the month just ended has been hot and dry. The rainfall since the beginning of the year has been only 4.87 inches as compared with 18.40 inches for the same period last year. During March rain fell on 12 days, the heaviest being on March 1 and 27 when .22 inches were registered. Bright sunshine was recorded on five, days only while sunshine was experienced on seven other days. The remainder of the month, 19 days, was overcast, conditions in the main being humid. Barometric pressure showed little fluctuation, the lowest recording being 29.77 inches on March 10 while the highest was registered at 30.28 inchest on March 17. It is interesting to note that on the afternoon of March 10 1 the barometer suddenly dropped from 29.77 inches to 29.55 inches. Recordings from the thermometer showed considerable variation, the lowest being 54 degrees on March 4 -and I'6 while the highest, 68 degrees on March 21 and 27.
