Public Notice SUGAR RATIONING In view of inquiries which have been made to this organisation it appears that there is certain confusion in the minds of the public as to the steps which they are required to take in connection with the rationing of sugar. It isrtherefore, desired to draw attention to the statement by the Minister of Supply Which appeared in the Evening Post, on Tuesday, March 31. The following points should be carefully noted: — 1. Registration cannot be effected until a ration book has been obtained. 2. Ration books will be issued shortly after Easter at a date to be announced later. 3. On receipt of ration books (one of which will be issued to every man, woman and child) consumers should take the books to the STORE FROM WHICH THEY WISH TO OBTAIN THEIR SUPPLIES OF SUGAR, and on surrendering the relative counterfoil from their ration books, their names will be placed on the register of that store. Any customer who has been- asked to leave his name with any retailer should note that he is not obliged to register with that retailer when his ration book is received, but is at liberty to register with the Self-Help if he wishes to do so, and once having registered is assured of obtaining the full amount of the ration from the Self Help.
