ANNUAL MEETING HELD

OFFICERS FOR ENSUING YEAR

As the March meeting of the Waitakaruru Institute was the annual one, officers for the coming year were elected as follow:—President, Mrs Pacey; vice-presidents, Mesdames Cropp and Sole; committee, Mesdames Mitchell, Hinton, Cummings, Cropp, McPherson, Dick, Simpson, Sole, Godkin, Harris and. Miss Gwen Harris. The secretary’s report showed that a great deal of very useful work had been done by the institute, principally ' war work, 81 soldiers’ parcels having been dispatched, a very large amount of knitting done and many garments contributed to the Galway Guild. Also donations had been sent to the Leper Fund, etc. The library which has been in the capable charge of Mrs Godkin and Miss Harris, has had. a very successful year. “We hope to have a still better year in 1942 as our members are very enthusiastic,” the report concluded.
