WHENUAKITE E.P.S.
(To the Editor.) Sir—The male population of Whenuakite are almost 100'% Home Guard supporters, having for months past devoted time and interest to the job. Among its members is a growing conviction that the danger of invasion is daily increasing and with it an attendant anxiety for our women and children. From lip to lip the same question passes “What does our E.P.S. warden intend to do in the matter?” jf‘Are we to take it?” That by doing nothing he seeks to impress us with the belief that invasion is most unlikely. I trust that this knowledge and the assurance of our growing resentment will result in the warden treating the requirements of his high office with the serious concern it deserves or also resign in favour of an appointee with suitable qualifications fqr the job.
