GOLDEN WEDDING

MR AND MRS F. L. GIBBONS MARRIED AT KARANGAHAKE Two residents of Kopu, Thames, Mr and’ Mrs Frank Lewin Gibbons> celebrated the 50th. anniversary of their wedding yesterday. Mr Gibbons was born in Bendigo- and came to New Zealand as an infant. He and Mrs Gibbons, Who was . formerly Miss Sarah Jane Pennell, were married by the Rev. F. G. Evans (now- Archdeacon. Evans, of New Ply- . mouth)', at Karangahake on August 5, 189-1. Mr Gibbons is 78 and Mrs Gibbons is 72. Mrs Gibbons was born at Thames.

‘ After spending .seven years at Thames Mr and Mrs Gibbons went to Klopu, where they have lived ever since. They have two sons and three daughters, and there are nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
