OVERSEAS ORDERS INCREASE MORE INQUIRIES FOR GOODS Significant evidence of greater de' mand for,British goods by overseas buyers during the second month of the war is revealed by the Federation of British Industries, the largest national association of industrialists in the world. Trade inquiries from overseas received by the Federation during October are nearly 50 per cent, up those received in September, and the applications from overseas agents anxious to do business for British firms had more than doubled in the same period. “ This is satisfactory evidence of the growing belief that Great Britain both can and will export freely,” said Mr Guy Locock, C.M.’G., director- 'of the Federation, “though it may be some time before the inquiries are reflected in the export trade returns. “ It is particularly noteworthy that in every case of an overseas inquiry it was possible to find for the inquirer a British firm able and willing to accept the order.”
