MEETING OF THE UNION j ARRANGEMENTS ON SATURDAY The management committee of the Hauraki Plains Rugby Union held a meeting on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs H. T. P. Evans (chairman). W. Williams, C. Wilton, W. Bailey, R. Benny and the secretary, Mr A. R. Johnston. A letter of thanks from the Hauraki Plains Ladies’ Hockey Association was received for the donation towards their funds. Arrangements for the Thames Valley, representative match versus Auckland “B” to be played on the domain grounds, Waitakaruru, next Saturday, were made, and after tea' and pies on the grounds, the team is |to be entertained at dinner at the | Hauraki Hotel, Kerepeehi. Mr i Evans was appointed manager, i Hauraki Plains Juniors ! For a curtain-raiser to the match, i Hauraki Plains Juniors v. Mangatai whiri Juniors, the following team i has been selected by Mr W. Bailey I to represent the Plains:— I C. Laurence: Schubert, S. Co.ssey, ;S. . Bowen; G. Pyke, V. Elvin, R. Chick; S. Terry, R. Hoffman, B. Wheeler, H. Green, A. Rapana, V. Harris, A. Fisher, Te Hero. Emergencies: S. Plummerly, R. Kennedy, W. French, J. French, J. Parkinson, G. French. Mr C. Hinton w'as appointed referee. Players are requested to report on the grounds by 1 p.m. and to notify the secretary if unavailable. Presentation Ball The secretary, reported that the pi esentation ball had been a financial success and the committee recorded thanks to all who officiated. The secretary was instructed to call the next meeting of the management committee when the season’s accounts had been finalised.
