AUSTRALIAN SINGER
JOAN HAMMOND A SENSATION Miss Joan Hammond sang on the same programme as Richard Tauber at the Georgian Festival Concert at the Queen’s Hall, London, which featured old-world costumes and customs, the hall being illuminated by candlelight.
The Daily Mail describes the young Australian singer as this year’s vocal sensation and says that her voice is excellent for 18th-century type of singing and is perfectly trained.
Miss Hammond is fresh from her successes in Continental opera houses.
