DISPERSAL SALE
CLEARINGS AT MANAWARU RANGE OF REALISATIONS The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company reports having held a most successful clearing sale at Manawaru on Wednesday on behalf of Mr J. Hogan. The herd, which was a good one, came forward in tiptop condition with most of the cows showing well in-calf. Competition from a large and representative bench of buyers was very keen, prices being very consistent between £ll and. £l2, the 1 whole herd averaging nearly ten guineas. The in-calf heifers were also a choice line and here again the satisfactory average of £9 15s was obtained.
Realisations were: —Young sound Jersey cows, close to profit, £ll 5s to £l2 ss; young Jersey cows, July culvers, £lO to £11; older Jersey cows, early calvers, £8 15s to £9 10s; later calvers, £7 to £8; later and unsound cows, £3i to £5; Jersey heifers, close to profit, £lO to £lO 15s; smaller, £8 10s ’to £9 10s; later calvers, £7 5s to £B.
