NEWS ABOUT PEOPLE. Miss Kath Tompkins is at present an inmate of the Thames hospital. Mrs W. P. Clark is visiting her sister at Katikati. Mrs E. L. Walton of Gisborne is the guest of her sister, Mrs I. M. Robinson. A number of basketball enthusiasts travelled to Rotorua last week-end to view the tournament held under the auspices of the Rotorua Basketball Association. They were: Mrs A. W. Alley, Mrs C. Morrison, and Misses R. Smith and L., V. and M. Alley, M. Smith and J. Corbett.

When making jellies and blancmanges, add a little extra liquid in winter, otherwise they will be too stiff. In summer use a little less than the specified quantity, or they will not set well.
