BRIDGE PARTY

LINEN GIFT EVENING. A very delightful party was given by Mrs J. H. Bartlett and. Mrs F. C. Bockett at Mrs Bartlett’s home last evening in honour of Miss Joan Nicholas. There were five bridge tables arranged in the drawing room and a glowing fire gave a cheerful atmosphere. Mrs Bartlett wore a floral marocain frock in shades of fawn and cherry and Mrs Bockett was in black lace with lame coatee. The guest of honour wore oyster lace and georgette. The bridge was progressive and prizes were won by Miss Joan Day and Miss Torrens. A delicious supper was served, after which Miss Nicholas opened the many parcels which had been presented to her by Mrs Bockett with the very best of good wishes from all present. The gifts were varied and well chosen and Miss Nicholas suitably thanked her hostesses and assembled friends. Those present were: —Mrs W. J. B. Hunter, Mrs Gordon Gamble, Mrs E. H. Bartley, Mrs B. Aitken, Mrs J. Brand, Mrs L. Morris, Miss Edna Moore, Miss Rea Allan, Miss Vera Menzies; Miss Ruth Gamble, Misses Ngaire and Glenise Adams, Miss Elva Turner, Miss Lucy Real and Miss Margaret Nicholas.
