COAST ROAD

ELECTRICITY EXTENSION CANVASS FOR CONSUMERS. Reticulation of the Thames Coast road and Coromandel was brought up at yesterday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board at Te Aroha. The Thames Chamber of Commerce stated that arrangements were in hand for canvassing the Coast road. The chamber was convinced that more than a pay load was required for extension, and the importance of the matter in developing that district was fully realised. The Coromandel Chamber asked that the canvass be extended from Tapu to Coromandel and district.

It was decided to notify the Coromandel Chamber that the Thames Chamber was conducting the canvass and that Coromandel was outside the Board’s district.
