THAMES COAST ROAD.

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY QUESTION

The annual request to the Thames Valley Power Board to give consideration to the question of extending its supply mains to the Thames Coast Road settlements came before the Board yesterday. The Thames Chamber of Commerce wrote asking to be advised of the general requirements of the Board to enable an extension of the service as far as Tapu to reeeiye consideration.

The manager reported having replied giving the results of three canvasses. . These showed a deficiency of £llO pei- annum. The line would be erected when the revenue was sufficient to meet expenditure. Details of the canvasses had been supplied and the Chamber was asked to comment on whether the new arrivals were prepared to take supply. Mr McCormick suggested that another canvas be made.

The manager suggested that a decision be deferred till a reply was received from the Chainber of Commerce .

On the suggestion of Mr Flatt it was agreed that the Board’s officers give the Chamber every assistance possible and attend meetings if necessary .
