RECIPES.
NUT LOAF. Two cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 cup walnuts, 1 cup raisins, small piece butter, 1 egg (not beaten), 1 dessertspoon golden syrup, milk to mix. Sift dry ingredients together, rub in butter, add egg, syrup, walnuts, and raisins, lastly sufficient milk to make fairly stiff dough. Bake one hour in moderate oven. AMBER BISCUITS. One heaped cup flour, 1 heaped cup coconut, 1 heaped cup rolled oats, 2 level teaspoons baking powder, 1 small cup sugar, Jib. butter, 1 tablespoon golden syrup, 2 tablespoons boiling water. Mix all dry ingredients together well. Put butter, syrup, and water into a saucepan to melt, then add to mixture. Place on cold greased oven shelf in shapes about size of a Walnut. Bake in moderate oven.
