WORK FOR THE MONTH
* PAEROA BOROUGH.
REPORT TO COUNCIL.
To last evening's meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council the work’s committee reported as follows:—
New Work.—Since our last meeting the construction work in Willoughby, Victoria and Arney Streets has been completed. Main Highways.—Following completion of the before-mentioned work activity as far as possible has been concentrated on the annual work on Main Highways. Patching where necessary, has been attended to on all streets on the No. 17 Highway from the river bridge towards Te Aroha road. The shoulders which were showing signs of breaking have been metalled for an increase of two feet with a wider width where necessary. The bend beyond Mr Vuglar’s is being improved and partially super elevated. It is hoped to complete this work in a few days, and when done it is considered that with light maintenance this section of Main Highway will be good enough for many years. The Ohinemuri River bridge has been inspected and cleaned and spot painted where necessary. All traffic lines have been repainted and are now in good order. For the balance of the month work will continue on Main Highways.
Maintenance has received the usual attention. The sealing of Coronation Road will be vigorously pushed on immediately the highways work is complete.
