THE THAMES SEAT.

MR. MARSHALL WITHDRAWS. Mr W. Marshall, Mayor of Paeroa, announced at a meeting of the Thames branch of the United Political Party, ,>Xat Thames on Wednesday, that he had withdrawn from the forthcoming contest for the Thames seat. A statement issued from the meeting stated that this was with the consent of the branch, which desire it known that the withdrawal is not in favour cf the Coalition arrangement, to which there is overwhelming antagcnism. Each delegate reserved to himself the right to act and to vote as he considered best.
