A small group of men recently were standing about before a meeting on the Plains and discussing the hard tim.es. “A storekeeper in a town I used to. live in invented a novel way of reminding his more persistent debtors of their obligations,” declared one of the group. “He went to the theatre, where he knew most of his debtors went once a week, and handed them their bills as they went in the door. The majority paid up. for shame’s sake.” One of his hearers, evidently willing to “go one better,” added, “and a storekeeper where I come from had a list of his debtors advertised on the screen at the local theatre. The majority of them paid up, too!”
