OBITUARY.
MR GEORGE DEATH. An old settler of Netherton. and a man who was respected throughout a wide district, passed away in the Thames Hospital on Friday in the person of Mr George Death, aged 64 yars. He had been failing 'in health for a long time, but up till six weeks ago he would not give in. A fortnight ago he was admitted to the Thames Hospital. The late Mr Death came to Netherton 12 years ago from Kaponga, Taranaki, where he had been farming for a -short period after having been engaged in blacksmithing. While in in Kaponga he served on the Town Board and in the Fire Brigade. Mr Death was one of the first members of the Hauraki Plains County Council and for a number of years represented the County on the Thames Hospital Board. At the time of his death he was a member of the Netherton Drainage Board and the Paeroa Rural Credits Board. He leaves a wife, three sons, two daughters, and five grand children. Mr N. J, Death, of Kopuarahi, is his brother. The interment takes place at Eltham to-morrow.
