FOR SAFETY AND COMFORT.

With a view to avoiding purchasing new tyre equipment, some motorists overstep the wisdom of economy into a zone of danger through using tyres that are unfit for further service, and endanger’ those who travel in a car or truck so . equipped. Some motorists take’ badly worn covers off the driving wheels and fit them on the front wheels, thinking that they are less likely to give trouble there. This is a particularly dangerous practice, for a blowout on a steering wheel when travelling at a fair speed, or when cornering, often leads to serious accidents, and in some cases to capsizes with serious consequences. If faulty covers must be used — then keep them on the back wheels, where less serious damage is likely to result from a blowout. One thing is certain, it is false economy driving on tyres until they blow out, for in most instances it also means ruination of the tube. Another aspect is the responsibility that attaches to any motorist who knowingly (and deliberately ’Uses worn out tyres that may result in an accident on the road. The law provides for the revocation of the license of any motorist found driving on tyres that are a menace on an automobile. . Safety and peace;of mind whilst motoring, are certainly -worth while, and using only tyres that are in. good condition: definitely helpsi towards ensuring motoring at its bast.
