ACCIDENT AT NGATEA. FRACTURED RIB AND ANKLE. 7 In the last three minutes of ( the football match played on Saturday last between Patetonga and Paeroa East at Ngatea, while East was endeavouring to place some score on the board and Patetonga was equally determined to prevent it, an accident occurred in which a Paeroa player, Herbert Brunt, received a fracture in one of his ribs, and also in a small bone of the ankle. Brunt, in an effort to score, snapped up the ball, and being all on his own with three men to pass decided to make a dash for it. He was tackled simultaneously by the three Patetonga men, and as a- result of the impact received the above mentioned injuries. '. - He was taken heme to Paeroa, attended by Dr. Davis, and later removed by ambulance to the Thames Hospital, where he is doing as well as can be expected.
