WATER SUPPLY.
CO-OPERATIVE MOVEMENT. KEREPEEHI BLOCK SCHEME. So successful has been the co-opera-tive water supply scheme, installed last summer by the Kaihere soldier settlers on the Kerepeehi block, that it is probable the plant may be enlarged before long to serve additional farms. Nine of the new settlers on the Kaihere end of the main road have agreed to have a similar scheme installed, and orders have been placed for a force pump capable of delivering 800 gallons of water an hour. The scheme is designed for a maximum pressure of 1,7001bs to the square inch, so that if necessary a second pump can also be connected and the reticulation extended to other farms. A 2 horse-power electric motor will be used, and it is estimated that the running' costs will not exceed £l3 a year. Water will be pumped from the Piako River. *
