, The attention of His Worship the Mayor wa.s drawn to the. 'fact that a number of street lights in the town are on the wrong side of the street, and in consequence were quite useless. The Mayor said he would have the matter looked into before next meeting and submit a 'report to the council. At last night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council, on the motion of the Mayor, a resolution of thanks was passed to Messrs AV. The Mayor said th.a.t he also wished to add his personal thanks to members of the council, and the public, for the great assistance afforded on the occasion of the Opening of the new post, office. Tlie following applications lor building permits came before the Borough Council last night: AV. Marshall, to erect club house for the Ohincmuri Club in Princes Street; HE. Raffill. to erect a motor garage in George Street; M. Anderson, to erect a shed in Kennedy Street; L. G. Potter, to make alterations to tlie Commercial Hotel ; R. I. Roberts, to erect, a shelter porch to Hare Bros.’ shop, Belmont Road. For Influenza. Colds take Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure.
