DAIRY FARMERS. Herd Testing. WITH the increased price of all commodities, and the high cost of land and stock, it behoves every farmer to find out exactly the butterfat produced by the individual cows in his herd. To enable him to do this the undersigned are offering THE FAMOUS W. & S. WEIGHING AND SAMPLING MACHINE for which they hold the agency in the North. The accuracy of this machine was recently demonstrated at Mr C. S. Puckey’s homestead, when Mr T. R. McCarthy, Manager of the Kaitaia Dairy Factory, submitted it to a careful test, concerning which he reports as follows :— ‘ ‘ The weight of milk registered in the container was checked with a tested scale and found to be correct. Fourjcows were tested, from which two different samples were taken, one from W. & S. Container, and, after emptying the container, an ordinary dipper sample was taken. Results were asjfollows - W. & S. Machine Ordinary Dipper No. of Cow " Test Sample Test, I >• 6’2% 6.2% 2 5-3% 5-3% 3 7% 7-% . ■ . 4 . . 4-9% 4-9% I can thoroughly recommend the W. & S.
