EVIDENCE AT INQUEST The adjourned inquest; was completed on Saturday morning before Mr F. Harris, coroner, into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mrs Eve yn Florance Guest, aged 38, wife of Mr David Guest, a farmer, of Rangiriri, who was found lying dead at the side of the main railway line near the Huntly station shortly after the Rotorua-Auckland express left Huntly on Monday afternoon, August 15th. Evidence was given by Dr. A. A. McFarlane, who stated that he had examined the body, and described the nature of the injuries received by deceased. Donald McGilp, a youth, son of a local ganger, stated that he saw the body lying near the main line, when he was crossing the line shortly after the express left the station. A verdict was returned that deceased met her death by being crushed by the north-bound Rotorua express.
