VALEDICTORY.

On the 21st instant a popular railway official was farewelled from Huntly in the person of Mr. B. McManus, employed as shift clerk in the local office of the New Zealand Railways for the past three and a half years. Mr McManus has been transferred to Napier, being promoted to the position of booking clerk, vice Mr. L. J. Sykes, who has been transferred to Frankton as shift clerk. During his stay in Huntly, Mr. McManus has been held in high esteem, was ever heady to assist his fellowworkers, and in cases of sickness was always to the fore. Mr. McManus left by motor car, travelling via New Plymouth, Wanganui and Palmerston North.
