To-night, Paramount presents Esther Ralston and James Hall in “The Case of Lena Smith,” a Viennese romantic drama. This picture offers Esther Ralston the greatest opportunity of her career for real dramatic portrayal. It is a story of mother love and her character requires her to appear as a young girl of 20—as an harassed young mother of 22 and as a woman of 40. A complete Viennese Carnival is shown in this picture. The most entertaining supports will include Paramount and Australian News, Bray Cartoons, Christie Comedy, “Happy Heels,” and an extra comedy, and the 4th episode of the “Riddle Rider” with William Desmond. The ladies are specially invited to see ‘The Case of Lena Smith.’ The Lyceum specialises in good entertainment and for those who desire the best it is an accepted fact that they are above all competition. Here is an absorbing romance with a gripping climax depicting the lives of two boxers and i girl. The Lyceum for the best British pictures. At the matinee Sammy Cohen will be seen in “Ilomeick” and in addition two good comdies and the serial will be shown. Send the children. Patrons should >ook early at B. M. Balckes’ and avoid lisappointment. MONDAY REGINALD DENNY in “RED HOT SPEED” A big double super programme will be headed by the popular Reginald Benny in his latest comedy “Red Hot Speed.” In this you will get—red hot speed red hot love—red hot rouble and white hot laughter. There are more mixups in “Red Hot Speed” ban it takes to make chop suey— Reginald Denny’s funniest yet. Alice Day plays opposite Denny in this augh special. A good supporting drama will also be shown entitled 'Tall Timbers.” This is a sensational romance of the Australian bush featured by Billie Sim—Eden Landeryou and Big Bill Wilson. This a sparkling jazz-flapper love story with a strong dramatic punch which will suit the young people and all who like things ively and jazzy. The Black Bottom ihe latest dance craze is prominently featured in this up to the minute modern story. Young Huntly and his girl are invited to see this picture. Fine supports include the Bathe and Australian Gazettes and two good comedies “Look Pleasant” and “At the Beach.”
