May 12th.— Huntly “A” v. Huntly “B.” Puke v. Rotowaro, Nga. v. Glenmassey. May 19th. — Glenmassey v. Huntly “B,” Rotowaro v. Nga, Puke v. Huntly “A.” May 26th. Huntly “A” v. Nga., Glenmassey v. Rotowaro, Huntly “B.” v. Puke. All games to be played on ground of teams first mentioned. J. DOUGLAS, Hon. Sec. The above Association has been formed, and will open their first match of the season to-morrow, Saturday, 28th April, when six teams will be competing. Since the visit of the Australian team, Soccer Football has been going ahead in both Islands, and j teams are springing up like j mushrooms. It is only a matter j of time when the Soccer code will j take its place alongside the j Rugby and League code as the national game in New 7 Zealand, and with the assistance of the local paper we hope to boost the game in th« Waikato. We have to thank the PRESS at all times for reporting our sport, and hope with their asistance to see the game go along smoothly. A BRACE OF POINTS IN THE BALANCE. ROTOWARO V. HUNTLY. A game productive of much interest should be witnessed on Saturday (to-morrow) 28th, when Rotowaro and Huntly meet under League auspices on the latte>-’s enclosure. Who will bag the brace of points, is a question as yet bristling with difficulties, for both sides are fielding a strong eleven. It should be a titanic 'struggle, both teams right out to add to their laurels the victory of the day. At the time of going to press, we have not seen the respective teams, but the marshalling of the players will probably be as follows. T. Hall, a capable performer between the sticks, should be seen keeping goal for Huntly. The defence would not be complete without H. Hall as left full-back. Hill figures well in the centre half pcsition. Assuredly E. Hall, Cox, and Hall will be very much in the limelight in the froi.t rank. They certainly make a splendid trio and should be a thorn in the side of the Tigers' defence. A. Orr will probably be one of the selected to represent Rotowaro. He is a safe custodian and knows how lo take care of his charge. It is likewise certain that McCallum and Morgan will also have a day out. J. Ross, we feel sure, will also be catalogued, for he has quite a rosy reputation to uphold. B. Caldwell, a hustling pivot, will most likely figure in that position. Tears must not he overlooked, and his inclusion in the line of attack is more than likely. It is whispered that new blood is to be introduced on Saturday and that the forward line is to receive some valuable additions. Huntly must look to their laurels, for the Tigers are all out to bag the envied brace. League. HUNTLY V. NGARUAWAHIA The Lower Waikato League season commenced last Saturday, April 23rd, when Nga. met Huntly, and Taupiri met Orini. The games were played in somewhat inclement weather, nevertheless the goodly crowd of spectators were treated to fairly interesting games. Orini after a determined battle suffered defeat at the hands of Taupiri to the

tune of 19 to 5, while the Huntly -Nga, game finished a draw, 3 all. A very good indication of the respective strength of the two teams —-a very pleasing feature in L.W. this season' —is the somewhat even stiength of the four teams engaged, not a great superiority as proved by Huntly in the last few seasons, which fact tended greatly to a lack of interest in the games. What with the competition consisting of three rounds and the number of Rep. matches in connection with trophies held by L.W. and South Auckland, the public should be treated to some first class football. On Saturday, April 28th, Huntly seniors meet Taupiri seniors at Taupiri. The juniors meet Rotowaro at Rotowaro, while the colts journey to Ngaruawabia.
