"Aussie”
ENZED EDITION APPEARS, The New Zealand edition of “Aussie” which has been taking shape for some months, has now materialised. As an Australasian magazine “Aussie” has had a remarkably successful career, and the interest taken in it by New Zealand readers has ihduced the proprietors to insert a supplement exclusively for the Dominion There must, of necessity, be difficulties associated with the production of the first issue, but the special New Zealand section, while making a modest beginning, is a creditable production,-com-piled entirely by New Zealanders. The Editor of the section is u Maorilander, doing his job in Wellington, and the writers and artists contributing to the section are all New Zealanders. The section is in the main cheerful, ironical, and humorous, with some clever political skits in picture and prose. The New Zealand section makes “Aussie” of special interest to all Maorilanders, but in addition to this the magazine contains 52 pages of the best humor to be found in Australasia —6B pages in all. More than 70 writers and artists are represented in this issue. The short stories, verse and paragraphs are uniformly humorous, and it is difficult to determine which one is better than the other. The Bookish, Stagery, and Woman’s sections are features that have a national importance. Informative and amusing, they keep the reader up to the times, but never fall short of “Aussie’s” mission to provide cheerful companionship. “Aussie” is on sale at the Press Office.
