The dance promoted by the Huntly Orchestral Society, was held in the Miners’ Union Hall on Wednesday evening last. The attendance was hardly in keeping with the occasion,'but perhaps this was partly accounted for by the fact that the usual refreshments were not included in the bill of fare. This part of a dance function has become ? o established that people miss it and it must certainly have a bad effect on the attendance, for after all, dancing is not all play, and a little light refreshment about half way through is very weleome. However, the floor prepared by Mr W. Bullough, was at its best, the music was' right up to the Orchestra’s best, and those who were present had a really enjoyable time.
